COA NEWS – RETIREMENTS

The Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Officers Association proudly recognizes Battalion Chief Monica Hall upon her retirement following 33 years of dedicated service to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the people of Los Angeles.

Chief Hall’s career reflects both operational experience and a sustained commitment to developing those who follow behind her. Her assignments included Fire Stations 4, 15, 29, 39, 46 and 82, followed by service as Staff Assistant in Battalion 10. As an Apparatus Operator, she served at Fire Stations 29 and 58 before promoting to Captain I, with assignments at Fire Stations 29 and 41 and Drill Tower 40. As a Captain II, she served at Fire Stations 37, 74 and 85, as well as another important assignment at Drill Tower 40. She ultimately promoted to Battalion Chief and served in Battalions 6 and 18.

Beyond her operational accomplishments, Chief Hall leaves an enduring legacy through her investment in the next generation of firefighters. She was one of the original leaders who helped develop the LAFD Girls Camp, volunteering countless hours to build a program designed to introduce young women to the fire service, provide mentorship, and demonstrate what is possible through preparation, confidence and perseverance.

Over three decades, Chief Hall served at virtually every level of field command—from firefighter through Battalion Chief—and helped open doors for those who would follow.

The Chief Officers Association congratulates Chief Monica Hall on an exceptional 33-year career and extends our sincere appreciation for her leadership, mentorship, professionalism and service.
