Dear Chief Moore,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you and the Chief Officers Association for your assistance with my research study. The survey concluded recently and I completed interviews this week. The experiences that were shared are valuable and the importance of stress through each lens will provide a rich analysis of my topic. Recently, the Chief Officers Association supported me with my research study “stress in the fire service” and I look forward to sharing my research with you at the conclusion of my dissertation study.
Since my retirement, I have had the opportunity to reflect back on my 33 years with the Los Angeles Fire Department, and knowing that I was able to live and work in a dream profession. However, living the dream can sometimes engrain the stress and grief that a firefighter experiences and my hope is that my research study can help the fire service. I want to extend my sincere gratitude for the Chief Officers Association’s support as I finish the last leg of my journey at USC, and to all the officers that took the time to complete my survey.
