Assistant Chief Carlos Calvillo currently serves with the Los Angeles Fire Department, Operations South Bureau. 

Chief Calvillo is a long-standing Board Member of the Chief Officers Association and serves as Social Director. In this role, he strengthens organizational cohesion and member engagement by coordinating ceremonies, events, and professional networking opportunities that foster unity, tradition, and esprit de corps across the association.

In addition to his operational command responsibilities, he oversees emergency operations across one of the Department’s most dynamic and high-tempo regions, including port operations, major transportation corridors, and large-scale special events. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing complex, multi-battalion incidents requiring coordinated response across multiple agencies and stakeholders, often in high-visibility environments where operational precision, unified command, and interagency collaboration are critical to success.

With nearly 38 years of service to the Los Angeles Fire Department, Chief Calvillo brings deep operational experience and a long-standing record of leadership in incident command, emergency management, and large-scale event coordination. His career reflects extensive work in high-consequence environments where strategic decision-making and multi-jurisdictional coordination are essential.
